12.06.2008 - RMK published the visitor monitoring manual 05.10

RMK published the manual “Visitor monitoring in nature areas – a manual based on experiences from the Nordic and Baltic countries,” which was completed and translated into Estonian in the framework of the joint project between the Nordic and Baltic countries.

The purpose of the manual is to provide methods, means and ideas for the managers of nature areas, with the aid of which it is possible to obtain more information on holidaymakers and the use of nature areas. The manual was compiled by the expert group on visitor monitoring methods for nature areas and is aimed at introducing harmonised methods in the Nordic and Baltic countries.

“Hopefully, the manual that has been translated into Estonian will provide an opportunity and basis for obtaining common data on the recreational use of all nature areas in Estonia,” said Marge Rammo, Head of the Recreation Management Department of RMK.
