23.10.2008 - RMK to significantly decrease vehicle fleet and sell more than 200 vehicles at auctions 04.10
The vehicle fleet of RMK will be decreased by about one third from the current 650 vehicles. “The relinquishing of a couple of hundred cars is part of the reorganisation process which makes the activity of RMK in managing the Estonian state forests more efficient,” commented Aigar Kallas, Chairman of the Board of RMK, stating that it is not planned to obtain new cars to replace those to be put on sale. Aigar Kallas also stated that no important duty assignments will be left undone in the future due to the smaller number of cars.
Auctions will be held in the electronic shopping environment www.osta.ee. The first round of bidding started today, 23 October at 13.00 and will end on 6 November at 15.00. The following auctions will take place in November and December. Information on how to get acquainted with the vehicles is available at www.osta.ee next to every item on sale.
About a half of the cars to be sold are Lada Nivas with a starting price of EEK 1000 and Suzuki Jimnys with a starting price of EEK 3000. The average mileage of the vehicles is more than 100 000 km and age 5 years. In addition to passenger cars, different off-road vehicles and tractors with timber transportation barrows will also be put up for auction. ”The conditions of the vehicles and other equipment offered vary, which is why we definitely recommend that those interested in buying become acquainted with the goods beforehand,” Jaan Schults, who is responsible for the auctions of vehicles at RMK, explained. According to him, the seller shall not satisfy any after-sales claims with regard to the purchased goods.
The fee for participating in the bidding for every vehicle on sale is 1% of the starting price, but not less than EEK 100, and deposit is 10% of the starting price.
