At today’s supervisory board meeting, the Board decided to appoint Mikk Marran to the position of Chairman of the Management Board from 1 November 2022 until 31 October 2027.

“We will now start with the necessary preparations to appoint Mikk as the Chairman of the Management Board,” says Randel Länts, Chair of the Supervisory Board. “His first task will be finding and submitting suitable candidates for the Management Board.” The authorisations of the current management board will end on 1 November. The new chairman and management board will be appointed for 5 years.

“My work will largely be based on the state’s goal for RMK, but it is also very important for me to meet the expectations of Estonian society,” said Mikk Marran when asked about his future plans. “I believe we can preserve and maintain our forests if we rely on the knowledge and experience of RMK forest experts, but also communicate with and understand the wishes of target groups.”

18 candidates applied for the position of Chairman of the Management Board. Recruitment company Fontes chose the three strongest candidates for the final round, out of which the Board selected Mikk Marran for the position.

Mikk Marran has worked as the Director General of the Estonian Foreign Intelligence Service since 2016.
